Frieda Kobler drops a donation in a kettle while Salvation Army member Margo Brett and co-ordinator Laura Raiger offer thanks at the Christmas Red Kettle campaign kick-off at the Great Canadian Superstore last week.
Money deposited in the familiar red kettles goes directly to the Salvation Army’s food bank and family services.
The local agency assists about 700 adults and children each month with food, eyeglasses, medical and dental help, utilities and emergency shelter.
