Peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Trillium Villa, Norma passed away at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Johnston and the late Howard Murphy. Loving mother of Howie (Peggy) Murphy, Linda (Tom) Cotterill, Tom Murphy, John Murphy (Sheila Davidson), Margaret (Rob) Parker, Mike (Sheena) Murphy, and Patti (Rich) Palmer. Cherished grandmother of Greg, Sandra, Shawn, Chris, Craig, Katie, Piper, Kieran, Jacob, Lucas, Marcus, Alicia, Lauren and Isabella. Treasured great-grandmother of 12 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by siblings Leroy, Ronnie, Ruby, and Donna.

Norma loved country music. Her favorite artist was Loretta Lynn, though her home was always filled with music from many of her favorite country singers. She enjoyed camping with friends and family and attending fiddle contests, thrifting with her sisters Donna and Ruby and fishing for pickerel. Her greatest love was her family. Norma loved to spend time with her kids and grandkids of whom she was endlessly proud.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at SFH – McKenzie Blundy Chapel, 431 Christina Street N., Sarnia, on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with family and friends being received one hour prior. Interment of ashes to follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the charity of your choice (cheques only at the funeral home please).
