Documentary on intimate partner violence and human trafficking comes to Chatham-Kent

The Sisters Strain and Chatham-Kent’s Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition are bringing a survivor-led documentary to the community on May 16th to confront what Ontario has declared an epidemic.

One woman is killed every five days in Ontario. Intimate partner violence has been declared an epidemic in more than 100 municipalities across the province. Every day, women and children are lured or forced into human trafficking by people closest to them.

The Sisters Strain and Chatham-Kent's Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition have partnered to produce and present a documentary film that confronts these realities head-on. The film brings together firsthand accounts from survivors and family members of victims across Ontario, including voices from Windsor, London, and Sault Ste. Marie.

The documentary aims to educate the community about these rising crimes and offer practical insight into building safer communities for everyone.

A screening event is scheduled for May 16th. A trailer for the film is available here.
