Carol Ann Brown passed peacefully at Bluewater health on April 13th, 2026. She was 86.
Carol was a loving and devoted grandmother to Brandy (Vic), Tyler (Michelle), Cody (Sarah), Jeremy (Jeanie), Jordan, Jesse (Dakota), and Tahneesha (Kyle). She also treasured her 22 great grandchildren and her great-great granddaughter. She is also survived by her very special daughters-in-law Corrine and Anne and her three sisters Ellen, Gail, and Mary Lou. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that she loved greatly.
She will be lovingly and happily reunited with her husband Gerry, her two sons Larry and Barry, and infant daughters Carol and Karrie both of whom she will finally be able to hold in her arms.
Carol was born and raised in Toronto where she met and married the love of her life, Gerry. They only knew each other for a week, but they knew they wanted to spend their lives together. They raised two boys and set down roots in Sarnia. Carol loved being a mother and they opened their home to many foster boys over the years. She recounted those memories with such fondness. It was so busy, but she loved it. She was happy to be a hockey mom and spent many years at the rink cheering on her boys. Carol also worked as a nanny, doing what she did best, caring for and loving children. She loved all children and they loved her right back. She was sunshine in human form. Everyone that got to know her basked in her warmth and love. She was kind, she loved freely and gave so much of herself to those she loved.
She was also a lover of all animals. She would often try to bring home stray animals as a little girl and had many cherished pets over the years. She also fed all the feral cats in Wilkesport and gave them shelter in her sunroom. She had the biggest heart.
Carol will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but she leaves behind so many beautiful memories to be cherished and a legacy of love to be felt for many generations to come.
A celebration of life will be held at Smith Funeral Home (McKenzie Blundy Funeral Chapel) on Sunday April 26th at 1pm. Visitation to be held 1 hour prior to the service (12pm). A luncheon will follow at the Sarnia Legion, 286 Front st N.
