First Friday April 2026 Schedule

This First Friday, April 10th, 2026 downtown Sarnia comes alive with a diverse evening of arts and culture, featuring live music at numerous venues, new gallery exhibitions, an author talk, and various community events.

Grab a raincoat or umbrella before heading downtown on April 10, as April showers may be in the forecast following the Easter holiday weekend. This month's First Friday features a mix of live music, photography exhibitions from local students, and creative workshops focused on community support and Earth Day.

North End Events

Sarnia Legion Branch 62 (286 Front Street North) Live music and dancing with Jeff Black's Band from 7 PM to 11 PM. All are welcome and there is no cover charge.

GRIND kitchen + bar (265 Front Street North) Live music with Andrew Borody from 7 PM to 10 PM. Doors are open around the back of the building with free parking available on the north ramp.

Bad Dog Sarnia (229 Christina Street North) Live music with Mike Gallant from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM.

Ups N’ Downs (226 Front Street North) Live music with Travis Laur performing acoustic blues and classic rock from 8:30 PM to 11:30 PM.

Greens Sarnia (196 Christina Street North) An all-ages open mic session starts at 6:30 PM.

Central Events

Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery (147 Lochiel Street) Current exhibitions include "John Williams: Debwewe Giizhik" and "Making Space: Recent Acquisitions". The gallery remains open until 9 PM on First Friday.

River Bank & Co. (172 Front Street North) Featuring original art and prints by local artists. The shop is open until 8 PM.

With A Side of Fun (155 Front Street North) "Dirty Hands, Happy Minds" offers good-for-the-soil play in anticipation of Earth Day from 6 PM to 8 PM. Participation is $15 or pay what you can.

The Painted Cat (137 Christina Street North) TPC Art Cafe presents "Create for a Cause" with all funds raised supporting families in Gaza. Walk-ins are welcome from 5 PM to 8 PM, though reservations are encouraged.

Downtown Market (140 Christina Street North) The "Lens on Lambton" exhibition features work from Lambton College first-year photography students and faculty. A reception runs from 6 PM to 9 PM with the market remaining open until 9 PM.

In the Pocket (100 Christina Street North) A Disney-themed karaoke night from 6 PM to 9 PM. This free event includes arts and colouring tables, and costumes are welcome.

South End & Special Events

Tang’s China House (165 Cromwell Street) Live dinner jazz with Wulf from 5 PM to 8 PM. The restaurant is also open for Friday lunch from 11:30 AM to 2 PM.

Sarnia Library Theatre (124 Christina Street South) Celebrate the 30th anniversary of cinéSARNIA with a screening of "Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie" at 7 PM. Additionally, a "Make of the Month" poetry journal workshop runs from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

The Lawrence House Centre for the Arts (127 Christina Street South) The Lambton College Arts Collective showcases photography by graduating students and pottery from the ceramics studio. John Pilat will perform at the piano from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
