Easter in the park returns to Canatara

Sarnia families are invited to Canatara Park this April for the return of a long-standing community tradition featuring the annual egg hunt and expanded activities for toddlers.

Easter in the Park returns to Canatara Park on Saturday, April 4, 2026, offering a morning of free activities for local families. The event is a joint effort between the City of Sarnia and the Seaway Kiwanis.

Activities will run from 9 a.m. to noon in the area surrounding the Children’s Animal Farm. The centrepiece of the morning remains the annual Easter egg hunt, which is scheduled to begin promptly at 10 a.m.

The hunt is organized into specific sections to ensure a fair experience for all participants:

• Children aged 4 and under, including those with accessibility needs.

• Children aged 5 to 7.

• Children aged 8 and older.

Participants are reminded to bring their own baskets to collect coloured eggs, which can then be exchanged for a treat. Beyond the hunt, the event features several long-standing attractions for the community.

Attendees can expect balloon twisting, inflatables, and magic shows by Bella Magic. The Children’s Choo Choo Train will be running, weather permitting, and the Animal Farm will be open for tours throughout the morning.

This year’s event also introduces new features aimed at younger children and literacy. The Lambton County Library will host spring-themed storytimes, and a new toddler play area will be available.

"Easter in the Park is more than just the kick off to our annual events lineup, it is such a valued tradition for families in our community, and one we are excited to be hosting for another year," said Recreation Coordinator Rebecca Warren.
