George Eizenga, was called home by his beloved Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 95 on March 24, 2026. George is survived by his beloved wife Lois whom he married on September 10, 1955, sons David (Erie) and Allan (Lisa), and siblings Jack, Louis (Doreen), Margaret (Don Stiller), John Boaz and families.

George was the proud grandfather of Nick (Jess), Jessica, Allayna, Talasia (Tristan Walsh), Rebecca (Lucas Prosper), A.J. (Emma), Jeremy (Micaela), Matthew, and Alysa (Declan), and ten great grandchildren.

George was predeceased by his children Mark (1957), Martha (1963), Sean (1965), and Esther, Carey and Stephen (1975), his parents, Meine & Hiltje Eizenga, sister Tina (1999), brother Allan (2011), sister-in-law Vivian (2020), brother-in-law Moe (2021), sister-in-law Pauline (2024), and sister Vicki (2025).

George was the oldest of seven children, born in Friesland Holland (1931), and moved to Canada at age 17. George committed his life to Christ when he was 17 years old, and went on to become a Pastor until ill health forced him to resign. He had a genuine interest in other people, and knew how to draw even the most timid into meaningful conversations. George could ask personal questions of people that no one else would dare to ask! George had a deep love for his wife, Lois, and each of his children.

Despite many physical limitations and suffering, and many tragedies in life, George held on with unwavering conviction to the sovereignty and goodness of God. George’s hope of heaven was based solely on the merits of Jesus Christ, whose righteous life and substitutionary death are offered as a free gift to all who will come to Him in repentance and faith. George loved Jesus, and loved telling others about the forgiveness and hope found in Him.

We want to express profound gratitude to Dr. Hall and the numerous dedicated, loving staff at Afton Park Place (Sarnia) for their patient, personal, and loving care of our Dad.
