Peacefully at Sumac Lodge, Michael Bruce Frankson passed away in his 76th year. A beloved husband, brother, friend and neighbour. A skilled carpenter by trade, he was known as a true jack of all trades – someone who could fix, build or repair just about anything. With hard working hands and a humbled spirit, he spent much of his life creating not only with wood and tools, but with kindness and generosity.

A man of few words, he spoke most clearly through his actions. Whether lending a hand on a project, fixing something for a neighbour, or simply showing up when someone needed help, he was always there. His quiet strength, reliability and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Mike took great pride in his work and found satisfaction in a job well done. Those closest to him will remember the steady presence he brought to their lives, the wisdom he shared in simple moments, and the comfort of knowing he was someone you could always count on.

A lifetime donor of blood. Mike made 200+ blood donations through the Canadian Blood Services.

Mike is survived by his wife Nancy “Nan” Frankson with whom he shared over 52 years with marked by steadfast love, quiet strength and a lifetime of shared experiences. Also surviving Mike, is family throughout the USA and Canada. Mike is predeceased by his infant son, Jeffrey Michael Frankson as well as relatives across the USA and Canada.

Mike will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched and will be fondly remembered by his neighbours, who over the years became more like family.

To the staff at Sumac Lodge, thank you for the love, care and compassion shown to Mike. Knowing he was surrounded by such kindness and support brought real great comfort to us all and we are deeply grateful for everything you did.

Mike’s legacy lives on in the things he built, the lessons he shared and the love he gave so freely.

A life well lived, and a man well loved.
