A lighthearted Canadian comedy centred on curling, relationships, and small-town rivalry will take the stage at the Imperial Theatre later this month as Theatre Sarnia presents Hurry Hard.
The story follows a married couple whose separation causes more than just personal tension. Their curling team splits into a men’s and women’s squad that must awkwardly share the same ice at the Stayner Curling Club. When a sudden medical emergency leaves the men’s team short a player on the day of an important regional bonspiel, both groups must confront their differences and work together if they hope to defeat a neighbouring rival and bring home the trophy.
The production blends humour with themes of teamwork, reconciliation, and community spirit, all set against the familiar backdrop of recreational curling culture.
The show was written by Kristen DaSilva, and is directed by Diane Veinneau, with stage management by Andrea Matthews. Producers include Craig Matthews and Ruth Francoeur, with costumes by Jane Mulligan. Set design is led by Amanda Jenkins with construction by Bill Soulliere.
