New data centres such as the one to be built in Sarnia will not use immense amounts of water to cool GPUs and CPUs, they will use closed loop direct-to-chip liquid cooling which is non-evaporative. Additionally, newly constructed data centres must follow noise bylaws and be compliant to what is required in the zoning. In residential adjacent areas, newly constructed data centres have been able to operate well below 45dB.
