Sarnia, Ontario – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Elaine Donaldson, surrounded by her family, on February 16, 2026, in her 80th year.
Elaine leaves behind her husband of 34 years, Russ Donaldson, and her children, Lannie (Rob Butler), Darcy (Sheri DeCaluwe), Dwayne (Kerry Reardon), Jeff and Stephanie. Adored nana to Alle (Travis Boronka), Ben, Clark and Melodie. Proud new great grandma (Gigi) to Margo.
If you knew Elaine, you knew that her entire life was her family. Her happiest times were spent surrounded by the people she loved. She will be missed by not only her immediate family, but also her extended family who she was very close with. Elaine also enjoyed travelling with her husband Russ and her many friends over the years.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice in Sarnia for their compassion, dignity and comfort that they provided.
As per Elaine’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a Celebration of Life planned for April.
“If there were no love there would be no grief, and though it breaks us it is also the greatest reminder that we were lucky enough to love someone worth missing forever.”
Online condolences are welcomed at Sarnia Cremation Services and in lieu of flowers Elaine has requested that donations can be made to St. Joseph’s Hospice.
