Sarnia Muslim Association thanks community for support at Ramadan Bazaar

The Sarnia Muslim Association celebrated a successful, sold-out cultural bazaar that drew hundreds of residents together despite harsh winter weather.

The Sarnia Muslim Association (SMA) reported a sold-out success for its recent Ramadan Bazaar, which drew approximately 200 visitors to the local event. The high attendance occurred despite cold winter weather, signalling strong community interest in local cultural initiatives.

The event served as a platform for local vendors to connect directly with residents. Families and neighbours utilized the space for cultural offerings and community engagement, reinforcing local social bonds.

City Councillor Brian White and community member Lo-Anne Chan were among those in attendance. The SMA noted that the presence of local representatives and residents highlights a commitment to inclusive community-building.

A representative of the Sarnia Muslim Association stated that the warmth, encouragement, and kindness shown by the community turned a cold winter day into a deeply meaningful celebration.

Looking ahead to Ramadan, the SMA has scheduled several outreach programs centred on local cooperation. These upcoming initiatives include:

  • Community iftar potluck gatherings
  • A Ramadan food drive aimed at local food security
  • Public Eid celebrations

These initiatives align with the association’s stated goal of strengthening community relationships and maintaining inclusive local spaces.
