Dennis’s bullying has no place in the mayor’s office

A reader defends Bob Hyde, calls Bill Dennis’s “communistic lefty” outburst inexcusable, and urges voters not to reward intimidation with the mayor’s chair.

Bob Hyde is absolutely correct that "Thatcherism," which involved breaking unions and basically screwing the middle class and working class, would be horrible for Sarnia.

Bill Dennis getting into his face and screaming that he was a "communistic, lefty, labourite" is inexcusable. We have ALL seen what he's done in the past, including this time. For goodness' sake, City Council had to go to virtual meetings because Dennis is such a dangerous person. As far as I'm concerned, he should be stricken from the ballot until he can grow up.

As a "communistic, lefty labourite" myself, I wear that badge with honour. And, I don''t stand for conservatives living by the "he who shouts loudest is right" bit, particularly because it's 100% NOT true.

Bob Hyde is ALSO right in saying that the voting populace should inform itself prior to voting. Seriously, do you REALLY want someone who shouts and threatens and intimidates people to be mayor of the city? I mean, if I were a businessperson or the mayor or councillor of another city, then I would want NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with Dennis OR this city.

His election would be a complete DISASTER. Keep fighting the good fight, Bob. I've got your back
