Families looking for local adventure on the upcoming PA Day can head to the Lambton Heritage Museum for a special film screening and interactive gallery activity. On Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, the museum will host a screening of the film Night at the Museum starting at 1:00 p.m.
The movie follows a night guard at a natural history museum who discovers that a magical artifact brings the exhibits to life after the sun goes down. The film is rated PG and runs for 108 minutes.
The screening is supported by local community partners to ensure a classic movie experience for attendees. The West Coast Lions Club of Grand Bend will be providing free popcorn for all visitors during the film.
In addition to the movie, the museum is encouraging children to engage directly with local history through a self-guided scavenger hunt in the Lambton Gallery. This activity challenges participants to identify specific local exhibits that might imaginatively come alive after hours.
Every participant who completes the scavenger hunt will receive a small prize. This initiative aims to foster a sense of belonging and ownership of local history among the younger generation of Sarnians.
By centering the day around both a popular film and the museum's own collection, the event highlights the museum as a vibrant institution rather than a static building. It offers a way for families to connect with the unique character of our area through hands-on exploration.
No registration is required for this drop-in event. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and students, and $3 for children. Children aged three and under are admitted free of charge.
