Northern Collegiate’s Multicultural Awareness Club is opening its doors to the Sarnia-Lambton community for a night of international food and cultural performances to celebrate local diversity.

The Multicultural Awareness Club at Northern Collegiate is inviting the Sarnia community to experience a vibrant journey of global heritage, traditional music, and international cuisine during its upcoming MAC Night on April 30.
The student-led Multicultural Awareness Club (MAC) at Northern Collegiate is preparing to transform the school into a hub of international culture. This annual celebration aims to foster cross-cultural understanding by sharing the diverse stories and traditions that make up the Sarnia-Lambton community.
The evening begins in the school cafeteria with Global Flavours, an international marketplace running from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Attendees can purchase authentic dishes from around the world, supporting local student initiatives while sampling a variety of global cuisines.
Following the dinner portion of the evening, the festivities move to Gym B/C for the Cultural Showcase. From 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., the stage will feature high-energy traditional dances and music representing an array of different countries and heritages.
Organizers describe the event as a family-friendly, vibrant space designed to build unity through shared experience. While there is a cost for food purchases, admission to the event and the cultural performances is free for all members of the public.
The club is still welcoming local participants who wish to share their own heritage through song or dance. Those interested in performing or seeking more information can contact Harminder Deol at [email protected].
