Michele Dionne continues to grow her catalogue with educational, interactive books designed to bring families together.

Michele Dionne is building on the success of her earlier work with a growing collection of books aimed at learning, connection, and everyday moments.
Since releasing her Sarnia-focused activity book last year, the local author and founder of SarniaRocks has expanded her catalogue to nearly a dozen titles, with more currently in development. Her latest releases shift toward interactive, family-oriented formats, including colouring books, activity guides, and practical tools designed for daily life.
Among the newest additions is a bilingual English and Ojibwe colouring book, created with her own family in mind. Each page features a single item alongside its name in both languages, offering a simple and accessible way for children to engage with language and culture.
Dionne said the idea was inspired by her grandchildren, who come from both cultural backgrounds. The book is designed to introduce vocabulary in a way that feels natural and engaging, while also encouraging curiosity and conversation.
Another recent release focuses on early learning, using a colouring format to explore the alphabet. Each page presents multiple items tied to a single letter, along with a mix of names that children may recognize from their own lives. The result is both educational and personal, giving young readers a sense of familiarity as they work through each page.
Dionne described the experience of watching her granddaughter interact with the book as a highlight, noting how quickly it became a tool for both learning and connection.
She has also developed a Family Travel Book aimed at keeping children engaged during long car rides. The book is structured in three parts, starting with classic games that require no materials, followed by a trip log to document memories, and ending with pages of questions, riddles, and lighthearted prompts designed to spark conversation.
The concept reflects a broader goal across her work: creating alternatives to screen time while encouraging families to interact with one another.
Her books are available online through Amazon, with prices typically ranging from $9 to $17, and select titles can also be found locally at The Nut Bar.
Dionne continues to approach her work with a focus on accessibility and everyday use, creating books that are simple in format but rooted in connection, learning, and shared experiences.
With additional projects already underway, she shows no signs of slowing down.
