Theatre Sarnia is set to bring the cherished holiday story "It's a Wonderful Life" to the Imperial Theatre, with performances running from December 12 to 20, 2025. The production is an invitation for Sarnia-Lambton audiences to reconnect with the themes of community, gratitude, and the significant influence a single life can have.

"This story has resonated with audiences for generations because it speaks to something universal—the idea that our actions, even the ones we think are small, can shape the lives of the people around us," said Executive Director Brian Austin Jr.

Following auditions held in June, the cast and crew have worked diligently to recreate the world of Bedford Falls on stage. Director Richard Teskey noted that building the ensemble cast has been a particularly rewarding aspect of the process.

Teskey explained that "This production blends the fresh energy of newcomers with the insight and wisdom of our seasoned performers, creating a genuine sense of community."

The dedication extends to the show's intricate stage design and technical elements. The build team has crafted a visually rich, evocative world, complemented by original projections that enhance the emotional depth of the story.

Brian Austin praised the work, stating, "The craftsmanship from our build team and designers in all of the departments is some of the finest we’ve seen. What they’ve created truly elevates this production."

Music is also a key component of this adaptation. The creative team has developed original music and new arrangements specifically to support the emotional arc of the play, with Teskey assuring that "We’ve worked to ensure every note feels authentic and deeply connected to the world onstage."

Both Austin and Teskey acknowledged the crucial role of the volunteers who bring Theatre Sarnia’s productions to life.

"I want to acknowledge the incredible dedication of the volunteers whose passion and commitment make this work possible. Their artistry is evident in each scene and every moment," Richard Teskey shared.

In the spirit of the story's focus on human connection, Teskey also offered a timely reminder for the community as the holiday season approaches: "While the holiday season often brings warmth and joy, it can also be a difficult time for many. If you, or someone you know, could use some care, please reach out. You’re not alone."
