Dear Editor:

Re: Waterfront SARNIA sign

I have to wonder, why a few people seem to be small-minded when it comes to promoting and celebrating our City.

The project to design and construct the waterfront identification sign, undertaken by the City’s economic department, is yet another example of the continuing City efforts to portray our community in a positive way, similar to efforts undertaken by many other much larger communities across Ontario.

The cost of this project was offset by a substantial donation from one of our larger industrial employers who obviously recognized the sustaining value of the project.

It has been strategically located in a very public place to maximize exposure to the public, both residents and visitors alike.

My hope is that in the future, council’s enthusiasm for other similar promotional projects intended to advance the image of our City is not diminished by a few negative comments.
