Dear Editor, I attended Vegfest last weekend (Aug 6), as did several hundred others. However, despite having both food and drink stands at the event there was not a single recycling bin there for the entire eight hours.

I attended Vegfest last weekend (Aug 6), as did several hundred others. However, despite having both food and drink stands at the event there was not a single recycling bin there for the entire eight hours.
The organizers assured me that they had requested a number of recycling and garbage bins, but nothing was supplied by the city and they had to drag in a single waste bin from another area.
This is an all too frequent occurrence at summer events.
How can we take this city’s environmental and climate efforts seriously when it can’t even manage a few garbage and recycling bins?
