Thank you for publishing the recent letter, written by Rabia Rizvi, which draws parallels between Gaza and the Holocaust resistance. Those resisters risked their lives then, even as they are today, but instead of being seen as heroes the Palestinian resisters are called terrorists. Our grandchildren will be reading about this time in history and will wonder how this could have happened.

We have allowed fear of being labeled antisemitic to silence us. We have closed our eyes to the horrors happening daily in Gaza and the West Bank because it hurts too much to watch. We have become indifferent to "the war in Gaza" because it feels like it is beyond our control, someone else's problem to solve, even as Canada continues to send arms to Israel. Now enough sitting on the fence! Let's raise our voices, risk our reputations, if not our lives, and stand on the side of justice for the people of Palestine.
