This above mentioned article was written last year regarding an international issue going on since October 2023. This is not a new issue, it has been going on for decades, 75 plus years to be exact. What's new is that now Gaza has been turned into a complete rubble, aid has been cut off- again…..no food, no water, no fuel, no nothing is being allowed in by Israel since March 2nd, 2025, for more than 4.5 months now, and the citizens are dying from starvation in addition to the daily firing and bombing.

Another thing happening now is that a group in Sarnia has emerged since October 2023 called Sarnians for Palestine. This group is trying to raise awareness to this genocide perpetrated by Israel. But again that is not the only thing that this group is doing, it's connecting to the suffering families in Gaza and is trying to help some of those people as much as possible. I am sure that the Sarnians were able to read articles about this group published in the Observer. One of the persons this group is helping is Ashraf Hussain and his family of ten members who are suffering daily in Gaza. In the words of Ashraf which he wrote to Sarnians 4 Palestine, and which Micheline included in one of her Facebook posts. Micheline says: "Today, Ashraf taught me about Gaza. He shared some joys and memories of life before the "war" and some of the trials and suffering of life over the past 18 months. It's a unique privilege, getting to know someone 10,000 km away from me. I wish it were under different circumstances."

This is what Ashraf wrote to the group: "You know sister, my only wish is to go back to the time before war. When I tried to get closer to see my house and they shot at me, my heart was breaking from the pain. You can't reach your house, the house that holds all your memories and dreams. The house you've lived in all your life. You can't reach it."  (2025). These words were sent by Ashraf months ago. Since then he has communicated with the group telling his everyday trials he, his family members  and the other Gazans have been facing. On June 14th, 2025 he wrote to the group: "There were massacres in aid today. I was there when the massacres took place, and there was also difficulty in transporting the martyrs and the wounded. The situation is becoming very difficult. When we arrived, they started shooting at us in a big way." "Today a massacre in Khan Yunis. So far 41 martyrs. They bombed a shelter, shot at us while we were trying to get aid."
