Royal Canadian Air Farce favourite Jessica Holmes will headline the Bluewater Health Foundation’s annual gala this year.

The comedian, author and mental health advocate is the gala’s keynote speaker on Oct. 17 at Huron Oaks in Bright’s Grove.

“After six years of hosting a formal, classic event, this year we’re excited to offer more of an immersive experience for our guests,” said the Foundation’s Kathy Alexander.

Holmes, a 15-year Air Farce veteran, has struggled both with post-partum depression and, as she puts it, “regular, run-of-the-mill, garden-variety depression.”

Funds raised will support mental health and addictions services, specifically a proposed ACCESS Open Minds Centre for the community.

Tickets, $250, available at the hospital, by calling 519-464-4408, or online at bwhf.ca
