Sarnia’s Rachel Riley won a silver medal with the Canadian junior women’s artistic gymnastics team at a competition in Marseille, France on Nov. 17.
The Bluewater Gymnastics Club member took silver in the vault final, her highest achievement at the international level.
Liliia Akhaimova of Russia was first and and Mia St-Pierre of Canada third.
Riley was ranked 13th overall and while Bluewater teammate Jovie Richardson was 33rd. Both athletes were named to Canada’s Youth Nationals Team last summer.
Canada finished the 20-team Elite Gym Massilia competition with one silver and three bronze.
