A 41-year-old driver from Bright’s Grove faces multiple charges — including stunt driving and impaired driving — after Lambton OPP stopped a vehicle Monday night in Plympton-Wyoming.
Police say officers spotted the vehicle heading westbound on Highway 402 around 9:30 p.m., traveling at over 155 km/hr in the 110 km/hr zone. A traffic stop was then conducted.
“Upon speaking with the driver, it became apparent they had consumed an alcoholic beverage, at which time a roadside screening device was administered,” Lambton OPP said in a news release. “The driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to a Lambton OPP detachment where they provided two samples over the legal limit.”
The driver faces the following charges, has been released, and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus),
- Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act) and,
- Fail to surrender licence (Highway Traffic Act).
If you see a driver who you suspect may be impaired by alcohol or drugs, contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or *OPP (677) on your mobile phone.
