Burckhardt Compression celebrated a significant expansion of its North American service network with the grand opening of a new regional service center in Sarnia, Ontario, on Wednesday, October 8th.

This state-of-the-art facility is strategically positioned to provide greater local support, improve shipping times, and reduce costs for customers throughout Eastern Canada, particularly those in the region's prominent oil and gas, petrochemical, and water industries.

The grand opening event was held in the new workshop, where guests – including local government representatives and maintenance and reliability personnel -were able to explore the facility's current capabilities. Immediately operational services include functional repair and a dedicated cell for valve and packing repair.

Burckhardt Compression has ambitious plans for the hub's future, intending to introduce comprehensive services such as:

  • Full piston and rod assembly refurbishment.

  • Running gear repair capability.

  • Inspection and rebuilding facilities.

The launch was well-received, with government representatives from the City of Sarnia, Sarnia–Lambton County, and the Province of Ontario expressing enthusiastic support for the company's commitment to growth in the region.

Tim Lillak, Vice President (Americas) at Burckhardt Compression, emphasized the immediate impact of the new center. “The Sarnia service center will bring our 180 years of engineering experience to a whole new audience,” he stated. He noted that the strategic location will lead to significant improvements in quotation and delivery turnaround times for regional customers.

The Sarnia hub is designed to be a one-stop-shop for maintenance, training, and testing, utilizing local specialists who blend global skill with deep local knowledge.

“If we are to deliver truly global solutions for a sustainable energy future, they must be efficient, and that needs local expertise,” Lillak added, highlighting the company’s dedication to impactful, efficient customer service.

The expansion is a direct response to increasing customer demand for efficient, professional 24/7 support in the area. By establishing a dedicated service center in Eastern Canada, Burckhardt Compression aims to increase the efficiency of onsite services, provide rapid quotations, and ensure faster project turnaround.

The new hub will enhance the reach of expert shop and field service teams, positioning them perfectly to provide essential installation, commission, and startup support where it matters most.
