Tonight, the Sarnia Concert Association will launch its 90th season at the Imperial Theatre with a performance by the Canadian Chamber Orchestra.

The milestone establishes the association as the oldest musical series in Ontario and Canada's oldest independent concert presenter. The organization is run entirely by volunteers, with no paid staff. A volunteer board and community members manage all operations, from planning and promotion to scouting new talent at music festivals.

For 90 years, the organization has brought classical and jazz music to Sarnia, providing local access to concerts.

Launching the season is the Canadian Chamber Orchestra, a Toronto-based ensemble founded in 2023. The group is composed of musicians from several of Canada’s top orchestras and chamber ensembles. The all-Canadian lineup fulfills a goal the association’s founders had 90 years ago to one day present a season composed entirely of Canadian musicians, a practice the association has maintained for the last 10 years.

The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. and includes compositions by Mozart, Debussy, Tchaikovsky, and Barber. Tickets are available from the Imperial Theatre box office.
