Organizers say they lack both the funds and the volunteer commitment needed to organize the event in Centennial Park this holiday season.
Though the celebration is on hiatus for 2016-17 the fireman’s tree and a few small displays will be set up, said spokesperson Cathie Blake.
Organizers will take this year to concentrate on raising funds and recruiting sponsors and volunteers for the following year, she said.
