Child Care Career Fair to support recruitment and retention efforts in Lambton County

The County of Lambton is hosting a Child Care Career Fair on Tuesday, November 19, at the Polish Hall in Sarnia, located at 173 Exmouth Street.

The event, scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., aims to recruit passionate individuals for full-time and part-time positions in child care across Lambton County. No pre-registration is required for this drop-in event, which is open to anyone interested in exploring career opportunities in the child care sector.

Child care providers across the county are looking to fill positions for Early Childhood Educators, Educator Assistants, Support Staff, and Licensed Home Child Care providers. Attendees will have the chance to network, apply for positions, and learn more about careers in the field of early years and child care. There will also be information available for anyone seeking to gather resources for friends or family who may be interested in joining this important workforce.

The fair aligns with Lambton County’s 2024–2028 Service System Plan, which emphasizes the need for workforce retention and recruitment within the child care sector. As part of Lambton County’s commitment to child care workforce development, the Career Fair will offer attendees insights into career paths within the sector, including Early Childhood Education as a viable, rewarding career. Key initiatives within the county’s recruitment plan include leveraging partnerships with Lambton College, collaborating with local school boards to promote child care as a career choice, and hosting events like this to connect job seekers with available opportunities.

Additionally, all attendees at the Career Fair will be entered into a prize draw as a token of appreciation for their interest and involvement. For more information, visit www.lambtonchildcare.ca.
