City Hall will be hosting two public information sessions on short-term property rentals, such as Airbnb, at a later date.
Council approved amendments this month that will allow short-term rental accommodation only in the principal residence of the renter, although operations established before Jan. 1 will be “grandfathered” in and permitted.
The total number of guest rooms is capped at three, and each room must adhere to Ontario Building code standards.
A city-issued licence for short-term accommodations will also be required.
Sessions that were planned for Thursday, March 19 and Tuesday, March 24, have been cancelled because of the Covid-19 prevention measures.
