City Hall will be illuminated in green from May 4 to May 8, 2026, in recognition of Mental Health Week, following a request from CMHA Lambton Kent.
The initiative is part of the City’s Illumination of City Buildings Policy, adopted by Sarnia City Council in 2016, which allows registered charitable and non-profit organizations, as well as City-led events, to request symbolic lighting to raise awareness.
City officials say the green lighting aligns with the official colour associated with mental health awareness campaigns and offers a visible way to highlight local supports and ongoing conversations around mental health in the community.
The illumination is expected to run nightly throughout the week, marking Sarnia’s participation in the national Mental Health Week initiative.
