Community bike event Big Slow Roll promises fun for all
A family-friendly event you can enjoy on Sunday.

The Bluewater International Granfondo (BIG) is encouraging everyone to hop on their bikes and join in the free fun of its annual 10-kilometre bike ride, the “BIG Slow Roll.”
This year’s ride will take place on June 9 starting at 2 p.m. near the boat launch in Centennial Park.
Organized by volunteers, the ride’s goal is to have fun, promote cycling as a great way to get healthy and show the world that Sarnia is a cycling-friendly community.
Riders will also be entertained with live musicians along the leisurely route, which winds through the village of Point Edward and parts of the City of Sarnia.
Starting in Centennial Park, the Slow Roll will head down Venetian Boulevard through Point Edward. There will be a quick break in Canatara Park before returning to Centennial Park via Cathcart Boulevard to Colborne Road and finally along Exmouth Street to end with a BBQ at Point Brewing Company and entertainment at Paddy Flaherty’s.
How slow is the BIG Slow Roll? The pace is 10 to15 km per hour, a speed that most people can easily ride on a standard cruiser bike.
Before you show up on Sunday, participants must register online and sign a waiver – visit the Bluewater International Granfondo’s website.
There are no fees to register, but cyclists are asked to make a donation to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Sarnia Lambton.
