A record-setting event is coming to the region this spring, blending agricultural pride with a mission to support local students. On Saturday, April 11, 2026 the Chatham Armouries will host 314 guests at what is anticipated to be the world’s largest dining table for a fundraising experience titled History Will Be Made.
The gathering seeks to celebrate the deep agricultural roots of the area while raising critical funds for Noelle’s Gift to Children. The charity was founded in 2013 to honour the legacy of Sarnia teacher Noelle Paquette. It provides essential resources like food, clothing, and school supplies to marginalized children across Sarnia-Lambton and Chatham-Kent.
The event is designed to go beyond a typical dinner by highlighting self-sustainability opportunities available to local families. Guests will have the opportunity to engage in conversations regarding micro-farming innovations and sustainable agricultural ideas. This focus aims to show how small family farms continue to weave through local schools and businesses.
Event organizer Brad Campbell described the evening as a collaborative effort intended to bring like-minded people together for a meaningful cause. The goal is to create an atmosphere where local pride blends with entertainment. This offers guests a fresh perspective on how agriculture supports the region.
The afternoon begins at 3:00 PM at the Armouries, followed by a pasta buffet at 5:00 PM catered by Club Lentina’s. A FUNraising segment, including live and silent auctions spearheaded by United Country Great West, will start at 7:00 PM. All proceeds from these activities go directly to Noelle’s Gift to Children.
These funds help ensure local children have access to essential items, including nutrition and emergency support. The organization’s work is a vital part of the community's social fabric. By attending, residents contribute to a system of local care that bypasses larger, detached institutions.
Tickets are available online at www.konyha.ca. Elish Smith, Co-Chair of the Chatham-Kent chapter of Noelle's Gift, noted the event is a unique way for the community to gather. It allows residents to attempt a world record while supporting local students.
