Council highlights from July 9 Plympton-Wyoming meeting

The Town of Plympton-Wyoming Council met for its regular meeting on July 9, 2025. Key decisions and updates from the meeting include:

Council reviewed a report on the apportionment of drainage assessments following land severances. This included the Anderson Drain, McGrail Drain, Bonnie Doon Creek Drain, Hicks Drain, and McFarlane Drain.

Sevcon Paving was awarded a $398,044 (plus HST) contract for the Fisher Line Rehabilitation. This project will be completed as an extension of the Michigan Line Reconstruction contract, with any extra funds coming from a projected surplus in the Confederation Line Reconstruction budget.

DiCocco Contractors Ltd. was approved for an additional $156,500 (plus HST) to expand the 2025 Asphalt Resurfacing contract, covering Harris Point Drive and Dalrymple Street.

Council received an update on the Wyoming Pool Rehabilitation and approved using reserve funds from the Wyoming Community Foundation and the Wyoming Lions Club. Hollandia Pools & Spas was awarded a sole-source contract of $470,000 (plus HST) to complete the work for the 2026 season.

‘No Parking’ signage will be installed along the entire south side of Devonshire Road following Council's approval of a related report.
