The Sarnia Fire Rescue Service says crews responded to a structure fire in the 100 block of College Ave. in Sarnia, just before 1 p.m., Tuesday.
Officials say the lone occupant was safely out of the house, and firefighters were able to rescue the family dog.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
