Residents near the Shell Manufacturing Centre in Corunna may notice increased flaring and noise from the facility this week, the company says.
“This is expected to continue until late Wednesday evening, May 10, as we work to safety complete required maintenance work,” the company said in a Sarnia-Lambton Alerts notification, Monday.
“A SAC (Spills Action Centre) notification code will be issued Tuesday a.m. and will be updated throughout the process should this be needed.
“It is important to note the flare system is a significant process safety device at the refinery and is a normal and vital part of unit activities.”
