Former officer honoured

A retired Sarnia Police constable has been recognized by the Ontario Women in Law Enforcement for outstanding community service work. Heather Emmons retired in February following a 28-year career with city police.

Heather Emmons retired in February following a 28-year career with city police.

One of only two women officers when she started, Emmons was active with many groups devoted to such causes as violence against women, elder abuse and domestic assault.

She continues to serve as a community volunteers.
