Highlights from Petrolia’s snow sculpture contest

Petrolia residents showcased their creativity and community spirit this winter during the Town of Petrolia’s Annual Snow Sculpture Contest, which ran from January 15 to February 16.

This year’s theme, Winter Olympics, inspired participants to transform freshly fallen snow into imaginative sculptures celebrating sport, movement, and international competition. Residents were encouraged to use snow as the primary material while incorporating props where desired, with entries submitted by photo before the February 16 deadline.

The contest, sponsored by the Lambton Central Petrolia Optimist Club, invited community members to take part simply by building, photographing, and submitting their creations. Organizers noted strong participation across the community.

Three winning sculptures (pictured below) were selected from the submissions, highlighting the artistic talent and enthusiasm found throughout Petrolia.
