Sarnia Police are investigating two suspicious house fires on Lanark Court last week.

Sarnia Fire Rescue responded to Sherwood Village around 4 a.m. on Nov. 3. Two townhouse units there suffered significant damage while adjacent units were also damaged, police said.

One firefighter was treated for minor injuries at hospital.

The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office deemed the fires suspicious and turned the investigation over to police.

The previous night, neighbours were evacuated from units on Kathleen Avenue after a townhouse there caught fire around 2:30 a.m.

Two hours later, firefighters were called to a second fire on Rayburne Avenue. No injuries were reported in either incident.

A joint investigation was underway to determine their cause, police said.
