Residents near the NOVA Chemicals Moore facility may notice elevated flaring and noise “as a result of an onsite disruption in our process,” officials stated Monday.

“The duration of the flaring is anticipated to last a few hours,” a community notification stated, via Sarnia-Lambton Alerts, around 9:50 a.m. “We are actively working to return the facility to normal operating conditions as soon as possible.”

A CAER Code 8, which notifies of an ‘Internal emergency response event’ was issued for the site shortly after. An all-clear was issued just before 11 a.m.

NOVA’s Moore site, located on Moore Line, converts ethylene, supplied by the Corunna Site, to manufacture both low-density and high-density polyethylene resins.
