The Inn of the Good Shepherd has announced the appointment of Jack Christine as its new Executive Director, effective with his transition beginning on Monday, November 3rd. Christine succeeds Myles Vanni, who has guided the organization for two decades and will remain on staff until early 2026 to ensure a seamless leadership transition.

Christine brings an impressive background to the role, with more than 15 years of senior management experience, including nine years leading nonprofit organizations. His diverse professional history spans community services, healthcare, retail, and technology.

“I am honoured to step into this role and continue the vital work of The Inn of the Good Shepherd,” said Jack Christine. “Myles has left an inspiring legacy of compassion and innovation, and I am committed to building on that foundation.”

Jack Christine joins The Inn from River Kids, a charity based in Scotland where he led the organization through a period of growth and stability. His work there focused on supporting disadvantaged children and families, notably by securing fresh funding and diversifying income to stabilize crucial services.

A highlight of his tenure was the revitalization of the annual Christmas Toy Appeal, which provided gifts to more than 3,200 local children in 2023. Beyond his professional roles, Christine has a deep history of volunteer work focused on addressing poverty, youth empowerment, and community development.

Liz Koetzier, Chair of The Inn’s Board of Directors, praised the selection, noting, “Jack stood out among a strong pool of candidates for his strategic vision and extensive experience in both financial oversight and community-based program development.”

Myles Vanni, who has been a cornerstone of the organization for 20 years, expressed confidence in his successor. “Passing the torch to Jack is the right next step for The Inn. He brings a powerful mix of strategic expertise, leadership experience, and a fresh perspective that will undoubtedly guide the organization to new heights,” Vanni stated.

The Inn of the Good Shepherd, a vital nonprofit, provides essential services with dignity to those in need of food, shelter, and other essentials across Sarnia and Lambton County, including a food bank, soup kitchen, shelters, and utility assistance programs.

The organization looks forward to formally introducing Christine to the community in the coming weeks as it continues its mission to provide a helping hand to those most in need.
