The Judith & Norman Alix Foundation is awarding funding to seven local projects in 2024, with nearly $520,000 being invested in the community.

The Judith & Norman Alix Foundation is awarding funding to seven local projects in 2024, with nearly $520,000 being invested in the community.
The projects, approved at a recent board meeting, the foundation approved the funding of these local projects:
• $172,500 to the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority for the Warwick Community Trail, the Warwick Conservation Area Natural Playground, and the Wawanosh Conservation Area trail upgrades.
• $100,000 to the Lambton Centre for the construction of a new meeting house and multi-purpose gathering space for families, children and youth, and seniors.
• $60,000 to the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario to fund a new pavilion located at the Jerry McCaw Family Centre for use by YMCA members, summer camp participants, and members of the community.
• $65,000 to the Forest Food Bank, for renovations to Contact House, the new food bank location.
• $98,152 to St. Joseph’s Hospice for renovations and upgrades to the residence and resource centre.
• $18,500 to the Moore Agricultural Society for accessibility upgrades to the Junior Fair Building at the Brigden Fairgrounds.
• $5,000 to the March of Dimes for renovations and repairs to the Standin Oaks Facility.
The Foundation wishes to thank everyone who submitted applications.
Over its 30 year history, the Judith & Norman Alix Foundation has advanced more than $6 million to over 50 community projects including: Withdrawal Management Services at Bluewater Health; the installation of artificial turf at Norm Perry Park in Sarnia; the construction of the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery; and the purchase of rare artifacts for the Lambton Heritage Museum; the purchase of a van for the Inn of The Good Shepherd; portable bleachers for The Lambton Fairs Association, renovations to the Kineto Theatre in Forest and more.
