Lambton County Developmental Services (LCDS) has launched a search for a new Supports Director following the announcement of Jill Johnston’s upcoming retirement. Johnston, the current Residential Supports Director, is set to step down in March 2026 after five years of leadership within the organization.
During her tenure, Johnston managed services across 23 residential homes throughout Lambton County. Her work focused on advancing person-centred supports and championing innovation for residents. The organization credited her with strengthening the quality of services and inspiring teams to foster deeper inclusion within the community.
As LCDS prepares for this transition, the organization is looking for a strategic, values-driven leader to build on the existing foundation. The incoming director will provide leadership for person-directed services and drive initiatives that enhance the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities in our region.
“Supporting people is not just what we do – it’s who we are,” said Nick Salaris, LCDS Executive Director. He noted the role offers an opportunity to lead dedicated teams committed to innovation and belonging. The position involves direct oversight of systemic supports that allow local residents to live full, meaningful lives.
LCDS has operated in Lambton County for over 70 years, focusing on the vision of inclusive communities and innovative leaders. This leadership change comes at a time when local institutions are prioritizing transparency and accountability in how they serve the most vulnerable members of our community.
The organization is offering a competitive compensation package and professional development opportunities for the successful candidate. Applications for the director position are being accepted until January 15, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Interested applicants can find more details at lcdspetrolia.ca.
