Lambton County Library is preparing a variety of events to celebrate Ontario Public Library Week from October 20-26, 2025, under the theme “I Love My Library.”
Darlene Coke, Manager of Library Services, stated the week is "the perfect time to visit your local library to see everything we offer – from books to projectors, and from pickleball paddles to telescopes we have so much to offer to help lean, play and grow at all ages.”
Highlights for Ontario Public Library Week include:
Sharing the love: Patrons are invited to share their appreciation for the library by submitting testimonial cards in-library, on social media, or via email.
Bookmarks: Magnetic “I Love Lambton County Library” bookmarks will be available at all Lambton County library locations on a first-come, first-served basis.
Florence Library Open House: A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at the Florence Library Open House on Thursday, October 23, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. to recognize the newest investment by Lambton County and Dawn-Euphemia in extended hours and expanded services at the branch.
Author Event: An Evening with Canadian Explorer and Author Adam Shoalts is scheduled for Thursday, October 23, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Sarnia Library Theatre. Shoalts will share the story of his newest book, Vanished Beyond the Map: The Mystery of Lost Explorer Hubert Darrell.
Councilor Storytimes: Some Lambton County Councilors will be visiting selected children’s storytimes throughout the week to join the fun and read a story.
In celebration of Canadian Library Month this October, Lambton County Library is also holding a new cardholder prize draw. New patrons who sign up for a library card between Wednesday, October 1, and Friday, October 31, 2025, will be entered to win a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite tablet.
Membership is free for anyone living, working, attending school, or owning property in Lambton County, or living on a First Nations reserve in Ontario.
