Sarnia’s 2026 road rehabilitation program will see a range of asphalt improvements across the city, targeting streets where underground infrastructure remains in good condition but surface quality has declined.
The work includes everything from topcoat asphalt replacement to full-depth reconstruction with new granular base material. The level of repair is determined by the current condition of each roadway and the intended lifespan of the upgrade.
Road rehabilitation is typically reserved for streets that do not require full reconstruction in the near future, helping extend their usability while managing long-term infrastructure costs.
