The Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) is sponsoring a themed “Learning Tree” as part of the upcoming Merry Magic CK fundraising event, running from November 12–30, 2025, to support Noelle’s Gift to Children.

Noelle’s Gift is a charity dedicated to helping students in both the LKDSB and the St. Clair Catholic District School Board across Chatham-Kent and Sarnia-Lambton access essential items they need to succeed in school. The initiative represents a collaboration between the school board and the community.

The Learning Tree will be featured in the event’s Magic Tree Raffle, where members of the public can purchase tickets to win beautifully decorated trees surrounded by donated gifts. The LKDSB's tree will be filled with learning-themed gifts, including books, STEM kits, art supplies, tech tools, and educational games, all generously donated by LKDSB staff and school communities across the district.

Caress Lee, Chair-Person for Noelle’s Gift to Children (Chatham-Kent) and Public Relations Officer for LKDSB, noted the strong community response. “We’ve already seen an incredible response,” Lee said. “Teams are coming together to donate larger, themed gifts. Classrooms are participating while teaching students about community and the importance of giving back. Departments are choosing items that reflect their work and values. It’s a beautiful example of our LKDSB family in action.”

All funds raised through the raffle and other Merry Magic CK activities go directly to Noelle’s Gift to Children, which provides support in several ways, including:

  • Providing emergency funds for daily essentials to help students attend school.

  • Supplying nutritional food items during the school day.

  • Stocking Noelle’s Gift Closets in schools across Chatham-Kent and Sarnia-Lambton with everyday items tailored to student needs.

Over 15 trees have already been sponsored for the Magic Tree Raffle, and the committee hopes to reach more than 30 sponsored trees in total. Local businesses, organizations, and community groups interested in sponsoring a themed tree can still get involved.
