Local broker supports skilled trades award for women

Local real estate broker Julie Jenkins has partnered with the Honourable Malcolm Cameron IODE to fund education for women entering the trades.

The Honourable Malcolm Cameron IODE chapter has announced a new award for a young woman pursuing a career in the skilled trades, following a donation from Julie Jenkins of Exit Realty. This contribution allows the local chapter to expand its educational support within the Sarnia-Lambton community.

The chapter stated that it has now been able to provide two separate awards to deserving women this year. These initiatives focus on two of the organization’s primary local priorities: supporting women and advancing education.

Marilyn, a representative from the IODE, expressed that the chapter is grateful for the community support that makes these awards possible. The collaboration highlights how local business contributions can directly impact the career paths of residents in the region.

The IODE continues to work toward strengthening community bonds by investing in local talent. Supporting women in the skilled trades is part of a broader effort to reflect the diverse local narratives and economic needs of Sarnia-Lambton.
