A 63-year-old Point Edward man was arrested after allegedly chasing a group of youth with a baseball bat and brandishing a knife at the Christmas in the Village festivities over the weekend, police say.
Lambton OPP say the incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Monk Street in Point Edward on Saturday, Dec. 2.
“When officers arrived, they learned that several young people were chased by an individual with a baseball bat, and the same individual had brandished a knife while interacting with the kids,” a news release noted. “Officers took the individual into custody without issue.”
The man was charged with assault with a weapon, was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Sarnia court at a later date.
