Local volunteers are gathering this April to clear winter debris from the Midtown Trail, reinforcing the connection between Sarnia’s neighbourhoods and its downtown core

On Saturday, April 25, nuSarnia will be hosting a spring clean-up of the Midtown Trail from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The organization is inviting local volunteers to help pick up litter and care for this important community space before the busy spring and summer seasons begin.
The Midtown Trail serves as a vital artery for the city, connecting several residential neighbourhoods with Lambton College and the downtown core. This effort highlights the importance of maintaining high-quality public spaces that facilitate active transportation and community connection across Sarnia.
Participants are welcome to join for the entire morning or stop by for whatever time they have available. nuSarnia will provide all necessary clean-up supplies for those who attend the event.
To ensure safety while working, volunteers are asked to bring the following items:
Long pants
Close-toed shoes
Gloves
A water bottle
This event is also an opportunity for local high school students to earn community involvement hours. Organizers have confirmed they are happy to sign off on volunteer hours for any students looking to complete their graduation requirements.
Those interested in participating can register as a volunteer by visiting the nuSarnia registration page.
