The Sarnia Community Foundation is partnering with Lambton College to host the 10th anniversary of the Women of Excellence awards on June 4, 2026.

The Sarnia Community Foundation (SCF) and Lambton College have announced a new partnership to host the 10th anniversary Women of Excellence celebration. This milestone event, which honours local women for their leadership and community impact, will move to the Lambton College campus for the first time.
The celebration is scheduled for Thursday, June 4, in the Andrew S. Brandt Ballroom at the Lambton College Event Centre. By moving the event to the college, organizers aim to expand educational engagement and enhance community outreach.
"Together, we’re creating a platform that not only celebrates excellence but inspires it," said Mike Barron, Executive Director at SCF. He noted that the partnership reflects a shared commitment to empowering women and building a more inclusive community.
Lambton College President & CEO Rob Kardas stated that hosting the event aligns with the college’s values of leadership and service. The Women of Excellence event recognizes trailblazers in various fields, including education, business, health, and the arts.
In addition to the annual awards, the SCF manages several scholarships that support local women in their pursuit of post-secondary education. These include:
The Jean MacDougall Women’s Leadership Empowerment Fund.
The Blue Eyes Big Heart Scholarship, which assists women leaving abusive situations as they work toward independence.
Details regarding nominations and sponsorship opportunities for the anniversary event are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
