New seat at St. Patrick’s aims to foster kindness and connection

St. Patrick’s Catholic High School students are fostering a culture of kindness and inclusion through the student-led Kind Seat Project, with a community dedication ceremony set for April 9.

The St. Patrick’s Catholic High School community is gathering to dedicate a student-led "Kind Seat" project designed to promote inclusion and mental health support on campus.

St. Patrick’s Catholic High School students are moving beyond institutional rhetoric to build physical spaces for compassion. On April 9, the school will officially dedicate its new "Kind Seat Project," a student-led initiative centred on fostering inclusion and peer support within the Sarnia-Lambton community.

The project represents a shift toward student-driven environments that prioritize lived experience and emotional well-being over faceless institutional structures. Organizers describe the seat as a welcoming space where students can pause, reflect, and find connection with one another.

The dedication ceremony is scheduled for 1:00 PM in front of the school’s main doors. While the event recognizes the collaborative efforts of staff and community partners, the focus remains on the power of local youth to shape their own school culture.

Community members and families are invited to attend the outdoor ceremony to celebrate the installation.
